It's been a crazy week, what with getting ready for the first week of school and trying to cram in the end of summer home improvements, so I didn't make as much progress as intended on rectifying the fallout of the shakedown cruise. I haven't gotten the sail rig adjustments made as making a new mast step is time consuming, but I did get the oarlocks beefed up. First, I cut out the split portion of the inner gunwale. »
I haven't written much lately, and for good reason. Summer has gone fast and the elusive goal of launching Afternoon Delight (henceforth to be referred to as "Addie") this year was looking precarious. So the last few weeks have consisted of knuckle-down late night garage time to git 'er done. All Finished At approximately 2 a.m. this past Thursday night I deemed her complete. Addie herself was pretty much done the week before, but having had the emasculating experience of having to accept a tow twice in my life, I introduced some scope creep by making a pair of spoon oars for auxiliary propulsion. »

Derek Siver's blog is one of my all-time favorites. Of late, he had sort of gone dark (pot calling kettle black). So, I was tickled to get an email from the Domino Project that they were releasing Anything You Want. I immediately ordered it, and you should too. It's ostensibly a business book, but don't let that deter you. There are no matrices, graphs or other MBA baloney here. »
